Gianluca Di Marzio was in the Sky studios last night during the coverage of AC Milan’s 5-1 win against Cagliari, and he spoke about the future of three star players.

Milan’s priority , obviously, is to find a new head coach for next season. Among the many names that have emerged in recent weeks, Sergio Conceicao seems to be the favourite at the moment.

However, the list of tasks extends beyond that because they must also sign a new starting centre-forward and fill other gaps in the squad such as centre-back, defensive midfielder and full-back too.

Then the ownership and management must decide they want to manage their big names – Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan above all – if offers were to come in.

Present in the Sky studios, the journalist Gianluca Di Marzio took spoke about the Portuguese winger and the French duo, with his comments relayed by Radio Rossonera.

Out of Leao, Theo Hernandez and Maignan, who remains?

“Leao I really think so, there is the question mark regarding contract renewal on Theo and Maignan. We will need to find an agreement.”

What is perhaps a tad unusual about last night is that none of the three started. Maignan was injured and might be out for the rest of the season, while Leao and Theo were rested but did come on in the second half.
